in 2009 i had my welder build from scratch seat rails for my toyota prious . each pair, left and right, which cost at that time $225 per pair. never thought i'd find a replacement for it but just put a pair of extend-my-seats. in my used 2015 nissan leaf for $249.

I hope you will continue to expand your offering

When I first installed an Extend My Seat in our 2009 Prius I sent you an e-mail saying how pleased I was at the extra leg room ( I am 6'5"). Now, after several months and over a thousand miles, I just wanted to say, again, how pleased I am with your product. I hope you will continue to expand your offerings. I would like to buy a new Subaru Outback but, not not until you make an Extend My Seat for one.

never before have I had driven so well.

Ciao! I have performed the installation: the new internal bracket is perfect! :-) I did 12 miles for a road test: it was great, never before have I had driven so well. Finally I can to support the back of the thigh on the seat and legs really have much more space than before. It is also not necessary to put the seat all the way back, still remain to be extended to three positions. After the road test I presented to the dealer / workshop TOYOTA in my country (San Giovanni in Marignano), the prius with the new brackets are installed. They were really excited about this great idea. The Chief Workshop TOYOTA has made a photocopy of your extenmyseat postcard and now also knows of your site extendmyseat.com. Located about 18 miles north and 17 miles to the south there are two other workshops TOYOTA and present your idea to them as soon as possible. The workshop TOYOTA south is located in the city of Pesaro, where there are many male and female teams of basketball in the city and matches take place for the national championship. It's nice to know that there are people who develop big ideas that solve problems for owners of cars like in your factory. Thank you again, I wish you many beautiful things and also to your family. Sincerely, A.

Great Product Design, Thanks! Prius 08 auto..

Mr brother in law who is bigger than me was impressed and wants to know if you sell seat extenders for an Audi A3. Please would you let me know. With kind regards and very many thank

Great From Beginning to End

I installed the passenger side seat extension in my 2008 Prius in a half-hour with the help of a friend. While one person could do it, it's a little easier with two. But the directions were easy to follow. Once we had it installed, I tested it out and it worked perfectly. I had hip replacement surgery recently and needed some more leg room. This product has provided me all the room I need. I highly recommend it to anyone who feels they need more leg room in their Prius.

Great in the end, but...

Overall, am very happy with the extra room this product gives me in my partner's 2008 Prius, but one installation issue was a pretty big fail. I ordered and installed both pax and driver side extenders. However, the "B" bracket of the driver side was missing the requisite threading on the backmost seat attachment hole. I also faced a problem with the "B" bracket on the pax side. Apart from the not particularly well-written installation instructions, which were very unclear when it came to the EMS long bolt, (which is not a brilliant solution to begin with) one of the holes that needed attaching to with a factory bolt wouldn't take it. But "luckily" I couldn't use the EMS bolt intended for the non-existent driver side attachment hole threading, so I had a spare, which did the job on the pax side. To resolve the driver side issue, I used a store-bought nut and bolt with washer and lock washer to secure the driver "B" side attachment. One other issue I had to deal with on the pax side was interference from the U bracket. Had to remove it to give room for EMS bracket "B", but needed to trim and reinstall it as nav box was a bit floppy without the support the U bracket offered. In the end, it all worked, but not without some challenges and additional time.

Good but expensive and doesn't address height

My extenders came in scuffed. For what I paid for this product, I expected better packaging and much better paint. The rails are heavy and sturdy. It does the job that it's designed for.

6'3.... seat now adjusts perfectly

Installed driver side without taking seat all the way out in less than 30 min. Can you fab a telescoping steering wheel add on????

Driver side great but.

Installed drivers side brackets it went smoothly but didn't have to take seat all the way out.. Passenger side was different, the inside bracket didn't fit too well. The inside bracket rear mount did not fit the contours of the tunnel, they included a longer bolt to help but there should have been a better contact point at that bolt. Got it to work with a half an hour extra time. I like my wife's car much better now.

Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how pleased I am with your product. I bought an Extend My Seat kit for a 2009 Prius (driver's side). I installed it in less than an hour. It finally made driving the Prius comfortable. I'm 6'3'' and what a relief. But the real reason I'm writing is to tell you how well the kit performed in an accident. You know you always have a little doubt when you install an after market product. I was involved in an accident that totaled the car. The extender kit was rock solid. If it had failed the results could have been serious injury. If you have anyone interested in your product who wants a testimonial give them my email and reference Prius seat extender. I'll be happy to share my story.

So Pleased with this product

"10" I have been telling everybody about it. I wish that I had done this to my Toyota truck when I bought it in 2000 (unfortunately you guys don't make that product appliction) and hadn't need to suffer while driving. Now with your product I have had Toyota's line-up available to me. I bought the rails for the '04-'09 Toyota Prius. I also shared with the sales department about your product that "there are alternatives and options to all taller potential buyers".

I just ordered the product a little while back and had them installed at my local mechanic (who btw took 15 minutes to put them in). As soon as I saw down with my uber long legs that for so long have been crunched like an accordian in my 2005 prius I put the seat all the way back and felt like I was in a bed. I am so thankful for this product and what its done for my prius and I.. Here's to many great and wonderful years of driving to come

Exactly as represented on the web site.

Thanks for poviding this product. I installed my seat extender upon delivery. The instructions were graphic and clear. After installation the seat was extended 4" as stated. This 4" allows me to almost put my legs complely straight out. Now because this is possible my therapeutic elastic stockings don't cut off the venous circulation in my legs when traveling long distances. I had extensive varicose vein surgery on both legs, and I am trying to prevent any reoccurance of varicose veins. Basicly, the quality of my travelimg life has been improved. My next project is to raise the seat height 2 to 3" on my 2008 PRIUS. My wife is too short for this car, and needs a higher driving position. I have been desiging a side plate of thin steel to attach to the side of the seat frame, and the slider. The plate would have adjustmment holes for various heights. If you are already going to do something like this, I don't want to duplicate your efforts, and I'll just buy it from you. Is this a feasible method to do this, or am I just hitting my head against the wall in frustration? Do you have any comments in this regard?

Just finished my test run in the 07 Prius after the install. Wow, what a difference. I'm 6'5" so any extra room really helps. Install went smoothly even though the cats insisted on helping.

Exactly as described

Sturdy, easy to install and it adds an incredible space for my legs. I am handicapped and now I can drive a Prius very comfortably. Great product!

Life changing!

20 minute install, didn't even remove the seat as the instructions called for. What a breeze. My knee was almost hitting the dashboard prior and now I can put my leg straight. Ahhhh. This 6'6 Prius driver is grateful.

I feel like I got a new car! Why did I wait to do this?

My seat extenders arrived yesterday and this morning BEFORE I went to work I installed them in less than 30 minutes. I had a new car to drive to work. I can't even put the seat all the way back! I can get a great driving position now. It even makes the dismal Prius seat more comfortable now that my legs can extend. I've had the car a year. I should have done this on day one. I highly recommend this modification. I am 6'2" and finally have the leg room I need. One problem is that now I may have to purchase these for my other vehicle.

I can't believe the difference it made.

I can't believe the difference it made. I love my Prius but was thinking about getting a less efficient new car but one with more leg room. I put up with the lack of leg room for 5 years and it was finally starting to cause problems with my hip because of the way I had to twist my leg to use the pedals. No problems now. Saved me the price of new car.

I have a 2008 Toyota Prius. The Extend my Seat brackets made an amazing difference in loving my car so much more. They were incredibly easy to install, especially for someone who is afraid of doing things like that and work great. Extend My Seat opens the possibility for me to get so many more cars now that I never could before, I only wish they made them for every make and model.

All The Differnce!

I have a 34" inseam so I was somewhat cramped with the stock seat setup. When I discovered the availability of your Seat Extenders, I thought that they were worth a try. I was able to install them without even removing the seats, I just loosened them. The extra four inches that I gained makes all the difference in the world in my driving comfort. I think anyone who could use extra leg room is crazy not to get them!

I Don't Leave Home Without Them

Without my seat extenders I could not drive my Prius! I'm 6'6" tall with a 36" inseam. They are so easy to install it really only takes minutes. I love 'em! The second generation units are very strong as I have 90000+ miles on mine and they look and feel like new. What can I say but I "don't leave home without them".

Great Product

I am 6'4" tall, when I purchased my car it felt a little cramped but later found that for long trips I was eventually very uncomfortable. Even the passenger seat was tight for me. So I started looking for some relief. I found on PriusChat that someone was developing seat extenders. When they were available, I purchased both driver and passenger sets. These extenders were easily installed and provided me with that little extra space I needed. They saved me from a lot of fatigue on all my driving. Rear passengers still had plenty of room. Great product. Thanks for stepping up to this need.

Thank Goodness For ExtendMySeat!

I'm 6'5" and Extend My Seat made it possible for me to get into my driver seat without having to squeeze my legs uncomfortably under the steering wheel like I used to. I can now position the seat perfectly for me to be comfortable. You'd think Toyota would have put more positioning options into the car, but thank goodness there's extend my seat to pick up the slack for short sighted automobile manufacturers.

Exactly As Advirtised!

I got the brackets for both my driver and passenger seats. The install took about 40 minutes to complete both sides (I have air tools) and it was pretty easy especially with the long bolt for the passenger side rear bracket hole. I am 6'5" and before the installation of the brackets my legs would get cramped after about a half hour of driving and my knee would be constantly touching the shifter. On the passenger side I had resigned myself to the fact that my knee would always be touching the dash and the glove box was not to be opened. I can't tell you how good it feels to drive and ride in the car now. Exactly as advertised and totally thrilled with my purchase. It's like getting a new car all over again

My wife is a short person and I am tall with very longs legs. With these seat extensions I am finally able to drive my wife's Prius in comfort. With the help of their web site and the enclosed instruction I was able to install the extender myself very easily.

Old Car With Great Legroom

I ended up buying a Prius just to commute to work and back. Since I drive almost 150 miles a day, I needed a cheap car that was reliable. Since I am 6'5", I never fit right in the Prius however the cost to drive was too good to part with. One night I ended up finding the extendmyseat brackets online. I emailed the site and within a few hours, the owner Griffin emailed me back. He answered my questions and assured me that I would not regret purchasing the brackets. I ended up receiving the brackets within a few days and installed them on the weekend in 40 minutes. I can assure you that if you are cramped in your car, you want a set of these brackets. I now have too much legroom.

THANK YOU!

An Easy Mod, Must Have

5
Posted by Geoffrey Hicks on 18th Nov 2011
All in all, an EASY mod to provide an extra 4 inches of seat travel! OK... I've been driving with the extra positioning for the past week... MAJOR improvement for me... 6ft 1in (normal build)... my knees are no longer very close to the dash... I can even add one of the thicker lumbar cushions, and still have a lot of clearance for my knees... a much more comfortable drive (3 hour total commute each day), still can have people sit in the back... Product quality? These brackets are thick steel... so I'm not worried about safety... I'm satisfied... and the pricing is reasonable... when compared to alternatives!
